European stocks were having a so-so session on Friday as investors reacted to interest-rate cuts by central banks on the continent.
The flagship Stoxx 600 index fell 0.1% in early trading–but Paris’s CAC 40, London’s FTSE 100, and Frankfurt’s DAX were all rising.
The moves came after the European Central Bank stuck to the script by slashing interest rates by a quarter of a point, and the Swiss National Bank surprised markets with a half-point cut.
