INEOS prepared to spend £50m to sign “excellent” ace ready for Man Utd step

In an attempt to rebuild Manchester United in the vision of Ruben Amorim, INEOS are now reportedly ready to spend £50m to sign a key defensive reinforcement this summer.
INEOS ready to spend big
The Red Devils desperately need to rebuild around Amorim’s ideas, with the current squad simply not set up for his 3-4-2-1 system. The former Sporting CP boss has been forced to field natural wingers in No.10 roles, full-backs at wing-back and ask central defenders who have never played in a back three to do exactly that – culminating in a disastrous few months.
It’s not the first time that Manchester United have been left staring in the face of a rebuild, but this time may be more difficult than ever before amid their financial woes and potential lack of European football.
Those struggles haven’t stopped the rumours from coming thick and fast, with names such as Xavi Simons threatening to steal the headlines earlier this week in what would be an impressive move from the Red Devils. The Dutchman would slot straight into Amorim’s No.10 role and may yet arrive alongside another key addition.
According to The Sun, INEOS are now ready to spend £50m to sign Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton this summer, with the defender reportedly ready to make the step to Old Trafford.

One Manchester United star unfortunately never managed to maintain his early impressive form at the club.
A player who’s been on Manchester United’s radar for some time, those at Old Trafford could finally satisfy Everton’s demands and welcome a defensive solution for Amorim’s backline this summer.
“Excellent” Branthwaite could solve Man Utd’s problem
Having put any early-season struggles behind him to thrive under David Moyes, Branthwaite is seemingly back on United’s radar just in time for the summer transfer window. At just £50m too, the 22-year-old could quickly prove to be a bargain deal for years to come if he completes a move to Old Trafford before finally solving Amorim’s defensive issues.
Dubbed an “excellent no-nonsense” centre-back by football talent scout Jacek Kulig
As the summer approaches, Branthwaite could once again have a decision to make. Manchester United are not the club they once were, but the opportunity to become a key man in their latest rebuild may be a difficult one to resist.
