Newcastle want “incredible” 25 y/o who can be their right-sided Gordon

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing an “incredible” Premier League player in the summer transfer window, looking to make him their right-sided version of Anthony Gordon.
Newcastle transfer news
New signings continue to be mooted at St James’ Park ahead of the summer, with Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn linked with a switch to the Magpies. The Hoops star has excelled in the Scottish Premiership this season, with 10 goals coming his way in just 15 starts.
Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo is also a leading target in the right-sided position that Newcastle crave at the end of the season, with the Cameroonian a proven Premier League player who could be an outstanding addition to Eddie Howe‘s attack in the coming years.
Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has also been backed to join the Magpies at the end of the season, with a host of clubs eyeing him up. Their interest may be dependent on Alexander Isak’s future at St James’, though.
A new right winger appears to be Newcastle priority position in the summer, however, with Johan Bakayoko and Baris Alper Yilmaz seen as alternatives to the likes of Kuhn and Mbeumo, and now another player has been thrown into the hat as an option.
Newcastle want to sign “incredible” winger
According to a new update from The Boot Room, Newcastle want to sign Bournemouth winger Marcus Tavernier this summer, seeing him as a strong option to bring in on the right wing, in order to “mirror what Anthony Gordon offers on the left”.
The 25-year-old is seen as a “potential option” for the Magpies, with the Premier League side “doing their homework” on him already ahead of a possible transfer.
Tavernier could be a strong option for Newcastle, even though he may not necessarily be quite as explosive a target as others such as Mbeumo and Bakayoko.
The Englishman would be a good addition when it comes to the Magpies’ homegrown quota, with Gary O’Neil
“He was playing really well in the last games but he had some chances he didn’t finish, against Burnley and Newcastle. But it was a matter of time because he has the quality. It’s good he gets the reward because he is contributing in such different ways to the team. I’m really happy for him.”
Tavernier has played his part in Bournemouth enjoying a fantastic season, starting 13 Premier League games and assisting five times, as well as chipping in with two goals for good measure.

Eddie Howe and Newcastle’s transfer plans may have become a bit easier given the availability of this player.
His versatility could appeal greatly to Howe, though, with the Cherries ace actually playing mainly on the left this season, but also shining centrally and on the right. For that reason, he could be both a backup to Gordon and offer competition on the opposite flank.
