Australian Grand Prix Review
A wet race in Melbourne caused havoc on track right from the start as the first car was out of the race on the formation lap. Rookie Isack Hadjar saw his Formula One debut over before it started, leaving the track visibly emotional. The drama continued right through until the end of lap 57 where the race saw just 14 of 20 cars finish, and just two out of the six rookies.
It was a dominant weekend for McLaren and looked set to be a double podium until Oscar Piastri lost his car in the wet conditions causing the Aussie to finish ninth after running second for most of the race. Ferrari looked to be fast, but being on the wrong tyre at the wrong time saw a disappointing eighth and 10th place finish for drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
It was a fantastic result for Williams, despite losing Carlos Sainz from the race early on, Alex Albon finished in fifth place, scoring more points in the race alone than the entire of last season!
It was also an incredible drive from Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli who finished fourth behind teammate George Russell.
Chinese Grand Prix Qualifying Preview
With two qualifying sessions taking place this week, one for the F1 sprint rice and the other for the race itself, we have taken a look at who could be the drivers and teams to watch both on track and at the bookmakers F1 betting odds.
Ones to Watch
Ahead of the action in Shanghai we have taken a look the teams and drivers we think will be the ones of watch in F1 sprint qualifying and sprint race action.
McLaren
After a dominant performance from both cars on the track on Sunday in Melbourne in both qualifying and the race, it is expected for them to continue to show their pace over the rest of the pack in the sprint.
Ferrari
A disappointing race last time out will have the Ferrari team ready to come back fighting to show the car they have brought to the 2025 season. We expect to see Leclerc and Hamilton fighting with the McLaren’s for the front places on the grid.
Williams
After showing significant pace in the race last weekend with Albon finishing fifth, despite losing Carlos Sainz early on to a damp track, Williams are looking to have brought a very strong race car to the 2025 season. We expect to see both drivers up near the front and disrupting the F1 betting markets.
