Manchester City have reportedly agreed terms to sign an in-demand teenager ahead of rivals Manchester United.

Man City transfer rumours

The Sky Blues and Pep Guardiola were unusually busy during the recent January transfer window, bringing in multiple defensive reinforcements plus striker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

On the pitch, it has been a season to forget by City and Guardiola’s high standards, with the best possible scenario between now and the end of the season being a top four finish and an FA Cup triumph.

Behind the scenes, Etihad chiefs are seemingly making a head start on the summer transfer window, with a plethora of players being linked with moves to Manchester, including Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise.

However, there is also the possibility of some huge City stars leaving the Etihad, such as Kevin de Bruyne, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Bernardo Silva has also reportedly agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain as City look to bring in a fee in excess of £40m.

It does feel like the end of an era in regards to some players, and with the likes of Khusanov, Reis and Bah early into their careers, City appear to be panning for the future.

Another player that has been linked with Man City dating back to January is Leicester teenager Jeremy Monga, and it looks as if there has been a breakthrough over a move.

Man City agree terms to sign Leicester gem

According to Leicester City News, Man City have now agreed terms and a deal with Monga, who has seemingly chosen the Etihad as his next destination over both Man Utd and Chelsea.

It is added that the 15-year-old, who will turn 16 in the summer, was also being eyed by Newcastle and clubs in Germany. Transfer expert Graeme Bailey said: “I understand that a host of clubs wanted Monga – Man United, Chelsea and Newcastle. There were also German giants RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund amongst others.”

Bernardo Silva is reportedly among those who could depart this summer…

Both Man City and Leicester are yet to agree on a fee for the teenager, meaning it could be decided at a tribunal, should the two clubs fail to shake hands on a deal.

The teenager can play on the right-hand side of the attack as well as behind the striker and has already been featuring for the Foxes’ U18 side. There have been reports that Monga is already valued up to £15m, showing how highly Leicester rate him, so it looks as if City could be signing a future star.

Whether or not they end up paying £15m remains to be seen, but it looks as if Monga will be on his way to the blue side of Manchester ahead of the 2025/26 season, looking to continue his development.
