Stocks Tumble as Tariff Fears Ripple Through Economy

Stocks tumbled Tuesday after President Trump imposed tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada, dragging the Nasdaq Composite close to correction territory and erasing the S&P 500’s post-election gains.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 0.8%, leaving it down almost 10% from its recent high in December. The benchmark S&P 500 was down 1.3%, on track for its lowest close since before the Nov. 5 election. The Dow dropped 1.5%.
