Jude Law Teases Nancy Meyers About ‘The Holiday’ Sequel
Just in time for Christmas, Jude Law
The 2006 festive film was written and directed by Nancy Myers and stars Law, 51, alongside Cameron Diaz, Jack Black and Kate Winslet.
Myers, 75, caught up with Law at lunch after the actor had received a major career milestone — a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles, California. Meyers shared a video of Law on social media, wherein the two teased a return to the holiday classic.
“Congrats Jude! ⭐️,” Myers captioned a video shared via Instagram on Thursday, December 12. ”I was thrilled to be at a lunch for Jude today and I had one question for him….”
In the clip shared from the celebratory lunch, Meyers pans slowly over a white tablecloth to Law sitting across from her. The two sat on either side of in between a dessert parfait and a glass of champagne, with Law dressed in a beige suit.
“Look who I’m having lunch with today,” she said in the video. “Congratulations on your so deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That’s amazing.”
Law received the prestigious honor with two of his children, Rafferty, 28, and Iris, 24, and his wife Phillipa Coan, in attendance during the Thursday ceremony.
“Thanks, Nancy,” said Law in return. “It’s so lovely to see you.” Myers then remarked on how long it has been since the two had seen each other.
“It’s so great to see you,” she said. “I don’t think I’ve seen you since we wrapped up The Holiday.”
Myers then began to ask about a possible sequel to the acclaimed film, saying, “Speaking of which, I’ve seen you interviewed a lot, and they keep asking you if there’s going to be a sequel, what do you think?”
Law sighed before repeating her question, saying, “Is there gonna be a sequel?” The Young Pope star then lifted up a white cloth napkin, and placed it on top of his head, and then put glasses on over the napkins.
The British star was referencing a scene from the film where Law’s character pretends to be a character called “Mr. Napkin Head” to amuse his children.
Myers continued to tease a sequel by responding to his antics, “Is that a yes, Jude?”
This earned a response from fans of The Holiday who were excited about the possibility of a second movie.
“I actually can’t handle this,” one person wrote in the comments, while someone else said, “Nancy this is not funny!!! You better not be messing with us!
